南ア・VW社、インターセプトテクノロジーで環境賞、革新的技術賞をダブル受賞！
Intercept Technology™ Packaging Helps VW Win “Green” Award

南ア・VW社(www.vw.co.za)はインターセプトテクノロジーを使った環境にやさしい生産方式により環境賞・革新技術賞をダブル受賞しました。インターセプトテクノロジーを使用する事で、非生産的でエネルギー効率の悪い生産工程の削減と優れた製品維持によって、同社はコスト削減を達成しました。このコスト削減に最も寄与したのが南アからドイツ（カッセル）へのエンジンブロックの輸出でした。インターセプトテクノロジーの導入により、4,080リットルの鉱油、24,871リットルの気化性防錆剤の節約と梱包に係る9工程の削減を達成し、コスト削減金額は２桁％を実現しました。
2009年11月6日のGalaイベントで南ア・通商産業省より「環境賞」を受賞しました。これは、政治・経済界、マンデラ湾都市機構などから640名の代表から選出されました。チャールズ・バッカー氏（VW社、エンジン製造責任者）によると、この環境賞は「優れた業績と革新技術」にのみ与えられる賞であると認知されており、インターセプトテクノロジーを使用して初めて受賞出来たと話しました。インターセプトテクノロジーは、環境に優しく腐食を防止する革新的な技術として、これより先、2005年、ドイツ連邦研究所より労働者の安全と健康、環境に関する賞を受賞していたが、VW社がインターセプトテクノロジーを使用するのは今回が初めて。これまでトヨタ、BMW、ロールスロイスのような既知の企業で使用された実績以上にVWはインターセプトテクノロジーを使用し、コスト削減、受賞を達成する事が出来ました。
VW S.A. was already distinguished for the second time for their environmentally friendly way of working, which was allowed by INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY®. By the elimination of unproductive, energy-costly working processes and by the excellent product preservation, as well as the reduction of working processes, the company could achieve savings. The success story necessary for this was the export of engine blocks, free from mineral oil-containing preservations, from South Africa to Kassel (Germany). During the whole packaging process 4,080 liters of oil, 24,871 liters of volatile substances and 9 working steps could be saved. The savings amounted to firm two-digit percent amount.
Already on the 6th of November during a Gala event, VW S.A. has been awarded by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce with the respectable "Environmental Award". Present in this gala event were 640 famous delegates from economy, politics and the "Mandela Bay Metropol Organization". According to Mr. Charles Bakker (Manager of the team engine plant) this award acknowledge to them “the excellent achievement and innovation”. It is the first time that VW S.A. uses INTERCEPT ® although INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY® received his first award already in the year 2005 by the Germany Federal Institute for Occupational Safety andHealth (www.baua.de) because of a new, unique environmentally friendly method against corrosion. It’s the more gratifying that now also the famous VW Group has appeared in the number of known enterprises like Toyota, BMW, Rolls Royce and many others, who already use the INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY®.On the 1st of December the department engine plant received for the second time with the "VW-Innovation Award“an honoring. This award was embraced especially by the chairman of the board Martin Winterkorn, because his vision to make use of environmentally friendly, innovative products was realized.
